Such a lovely place.

This was our second stay in the same cottage. It’s a basic place, but has the essentials, and the reason we came back was the wonderful peace and the lake nearby. Spring weather brought a bit of trouble with a winter storm on the drive here, but we’re used to that in Finland 😊 The last stretch of road is narrow but driveable. The cottages are well placed, and you don’t have any trouble with the neighboring cottage. The owner is professional, answered our questions, and made all the arrangements really easy. I’d recommend it if you want to escape the bustle, relax, and recharge. The barbecue shelter could maybe use an update, and the outdoor sauna could use a little surface cleaning. If being far from the nearest shop is an issue, bring enough food. This cottage has a large fridge and a fairly roomy freezer for a cottage.

Pros: It’s peaceful, remote, cheap, and clean. But it was hard to find, and the rooms upstairs are very difficult to access. The steep, poor stairs mean a guest needs assistance to reach a room, while a rollator or wheelchair has to be left below. There are no rooms on the ground floor. A rollator or wheelchair won’t fit through the bathroom or shower doors, and there’s barely room to sit on the toilet seat because the shower wall is so close. The toilet and shower are both tiny and cramped, and even a person without mobility issues can’t sit comfortably. In 28-degree heat, the room couldn’t be cooled, which was painful. The sloping ceiling is dangerous, has no safety tape, and I hit my head badly. There’s no soundproofing, and the door to NO5 squeaks terribly on its hinges. Could it use some oil? The shower runs out of hot water and cuts off while you’re showering, so it needs repair. There are no meals or breakfast. You have to call the doorman, if you have a phone with you, and he didn’t know anything because he no longer owns the property. The prices also didn’t match the advance booking, and the pet supplement wasn’t mentioned when booking.

The drive took a long time, and the road was in somewhat poor condition. The place itself was quite okay, though, with a nice room.
