Yyteri Hotel & Spa

The restaurant’s meat and fish dishes were delicious, and the service was very good. We called the hotel first and were glad to confirm dogs are welcome. Minnie, our small schnauzer, loved the location. You can see the age of the place, with its old fifties-era features, but the sand and other areas had been cleaned thoroughly. It felt homely.

The room was spacious, clean, and inexpensive. We also enjoyed the food, and the dishes were clean. A really good spa hotel close to Yyteri beach.

The condition of the hotel was a bit disappointing, as the photos don’t really show how it looks. The rooms and facilities are somewhat worn, though nothing too bad. Even fruit in a basket that didn’t look very good came with a charge, which I didn’t appreciate. It was an okay stay, but next time I’d choose a cheaper camping cabin or Airbnb.

The staff were friendly, and the location is lovely. Those are the main positives. I hope the renovation work underway will address some of the problems, because as things stand I can’t recommend staying here. The price is too high for what you get. The location and staff earn it two stars; without them, even one would be too generous. The rooms were old-fashioned, with a very dated, tiny bathroom and a metal sink that rang like a church bell whenever anything touched it. There’s no air conditioning, so with the heat outside it was even hotter in the room. The corridors were pleasantly cool, and luckily there were seats by the stairs and elevators. I barely slept across the two nights. The walls also let through everything from the next room, including conversations and nighttime snoring. WiFi was weak in the room but worked well in the corridor. The restaurant’s evening buffet was poor quality, with some food almost tasteless, and €22 was far too much for it. Breakfast was no better: the orange juice tasted more like water, and the eggs had hardly any flavor. The sausages were good.
