Casa Arctica Apartments

Our studio with sauna was a great place to stay. It was clean and tidy, had Christmas decorations that made it feel like home, and came with everything a couple could need: a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with sauna, and TV corner. We arrived early, so the hosts let us leave our bags on their porch, 150m from the studio, until check-in. That meant we could already explore Rovaniemi. When we returned, they’d moved our bags into the studio, which felt welcoming. The location is handy: Arktikum is only a 5min walk away, and the city centre takes 10-15min on foot. You can also walk to Santasport for cross-country skiing in about 30min. They offer several types of accommodation, and I’d recommend this one to anyone.

The family running the B&B were the best part. Kiki and Mika were so kind and helpful, picked us up and drove us for a small fee, saving us some taxi money, and even messaged when they spotted auroras. The house is cozy, warm, nice, and fully equipped, with a private sauna that’s easy to use. For that alone, I’d give it five stars. It’s also a great location, five minutes on foot from the riverbank and a public fireplace, one of the best spots in Rovaniemi for auroras. We tracked them on the app and headed out almost right away. We were lucky to see them too. If I could, I’d rate this six stars. One of the best places I’ve stayed anywhere, and amazing value for the price.

We chose the cottage in Mika and Kiki’s backyard, right beside their private house. It felt homey and typically Finnish, and turned out to be just the right choice. Mika and Kiki gave us personal, private care, were always around for questions and a friendly chat, and Mika’s recommendations were unrestricted super. His safaris were real events and great fun. We had amazing holidays, and the memories will last.

We had a really nice one-night stay, with a sauna included in our accommodation. It’s close to Arktikum and a short distance from the city centre.
