Scandic Pohjanhovi

We had a very pleasant stay with breakfast. The rooms were clean, with tea, coffee, a kettle, and a good shower, and the service was very friendly. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast. My personal favorites were the carrot and seabackthorn juice and raindeer meatballs. The children and teenage rooms were nice.

The location is good, by the river and close to the centre, and our recently updated family room was nice. Cleaning was minimal, though: they made the beds and did little else. The breakfast buffet was sufficient but had few choices, and finding a seat was difficult. The pool and sauna need renovating.

The receptionists were super sweet and helpful, and we enjoyed a breakfast buffet with lots of healthy choices. Our family had a good four-night stay in a hotel with comfortable rooms, an indoor pool, and a sauna.

The high seasonal rate made this a very disappointing stay. The room was clean when we arrived but wasn’t cleaned again. It was extremely small, and the layout made little sense: there was a chair and an armchair but no table to eat at. The bed was a true single, though comfortable. The bathroom was a joke, and the toilet reminded me of an A321 neo lavatory. Breakfast was only at a minimum standard. There was lots of lettuce but no dressing, eggs, spoons, or salt dispensers, among other things that didn’t make sense.
