Silver Birch Resort

The restaurant food was delicious, though the portions were small, prices high, and there weren't many choices. It felt more like Michelin-style dining than casual resort food. The resort itself is beautiful, even better than the photos, and feels peaceful and close to nature while staying warm and cosy. It was -30°C outside during our stay, but the room's underfloor heating and AC kept it so warm that regular indoor clothes were enough. The walls and ceiling are glass, with clear views all around, and the glass never fogged up. We even saw the aurora lights while lying in bed, which was unforgettable. There's also a frozen lake nearby, with a beautiful line of trees along the horizon. So quiet and atmospheric.

The warm, gorgeous rooms had exceptionally comfortable beds, and the views were wonderful. The restaurant was a short walk away and was divine. The chef was very flexible about changing the menu for the kids, and the staff were fantastic. We loved the small teepees on the property where you can toast marshmallows and sausages. There was a traditional fire sauna that reached 95 degrees, plus an ice lake for plunging. We visited in winter, when the lake was frozen, and the staff arranged ice fishing and snowshoes so we could walk across it. It was a perfect recharge. Rovaniemi is a short drive away if you need it, but there wasn't really a reason to leave the property.

The staff went above and beyond, even taking magical photos of me with the Northern Lights that I'll treasure. Dining at the restaurant was a delight too. The chef explained each course personally, the meal was incredible, and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Cappuccinos and lattes were a perfect start to every morning. I had a wonderful stay at Silver Birch in Rovaniemi, Lapland, this past November. The cabin was fantastic, with breathtaking lake views and such a peaceful location. I loved the sauna and taking a polar plunge, which felt unique and exhilarating. I'd rate the experience 100 out of 10, and I'll definitely be back!

The glass-walled cabins made it feel like we were right among the birch trees, and falling asleep under the stars, even the northern lights, was magical. We loved the lakeside sauna, canoeing, and the peaceful setting. The cosy restaurant served great food too. We had an amazing stay at The Silver Birch Resort, a unique and relaxing getaway!
