We went for three nights, my wife, our son and I, and did the lot: skiing, husky driving, ice hockey, snow mobiles and sledging. Staff across the whole resort were amazing, with absolutely no complaints. When you arrive by coach, they show you to a room where the staff kit you out with thermal boots, overalls and mittens. An absolutely incredible place!

The room was really warm and comfortable, with a kettle, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, plus a sauna in the bathroom. The hotel was nice and very clean, and the staff were pleasant. The timer can be set for up to 4hrs; if you set it beyond that, you have to wait until it reaches 4hrs before it switches on.

Jasmin and Antti at reception were incredibly helpful. They arranged to have my forgotten keys and headphones sent all the way to Romania, and I really appreciated it. The hotel has an incredible setting in Ivalo, and I had a really nice stay. I'd definitely return.

We were upgraded at check-in, which was nice, and there was a sauna in the room. But we found a suspicious brown stain on the sheets very late at night, when there wasn't much we could do about it. The building is pretty old, so this is definitely a budget option in Lapland. Two stars for us.

The hotel is grossly overpriced. A half can of pop was £4, and a plastic bottle of water was £4, so bring your own drinks and snacks. The staff were awful, unfriendly, unhelpful, and seemed like they didn't want to be there.
