Breakfast was delicious, with a nice mix of sweet and savory choices, including local products. The hotel is new, quiet all day and night, and the standard rooms are small but cozy. Privacy could be better, perhaps with screened windows. Its location makes getting around easy. The mall, shops, supermarket, and plenty of restaurants are within walking distance. The ski resort is a couple of kilometers away and easy to reach by bus. The stop across the road also serves buses to Ivalo Airport, about 20-25 minutes away. There was always someone at reception to answer questions, and a staff member dedicated to arranging excursions and activities. You can conveniently rent winter gear at the activity center right next door. A pleasant, comfortable stay for couples, friends, or solo travelers.

The buffet had plenty of tasty choices for everyone, and the staff were friendly and seemed to enjoy their work. We were also given really good winter gear for free when we booked an activity through the hotel, which is handy if you’re concerned about what to wear. Wilderness Hotel Kieppi is a new, warm hotel with timber-style rooms. It’s also close to the Aurora hut for Northern Lights viewing, cross-country skiing, bus stops, and the supermarket. Saariselka is a magical place in winter. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay and would love to come back. ⛷️❄️🇫🇮

The staff were friendly throughout, and we felt comfortable during our stay. The hotel is centrally located, with a public bus from Ivalo Airport stopping right outside. The rooms are small but cozy, with enough room for luggage and nice views. The big TV wasn’t much use: Netflix and other streaming apps didn’t work, and only five channels were available, all in Finnish. We booked a rate with breakfast and dinner, and at that price expected a seated, à la carte setup, but the meals were buffets. The food was good quality, though. Rooms weren’t cleaned daily, which was fine for us, but at that price you might expect it. We’d recommend the hotel.
