Tallusniemi Villas

The area is peaceful and beautiful, and the villas are spacious, clean, and well equipped. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We loved the holiday home on beautiful Lake Saimaa. It’s spacious enough for a big group or family, and it has modern comforts like Wi-Fi while still being surrounded by Finnish nature. There’s a sauna, a boat, and a private dock on the lake. A small playground and beach are about 40 meters away. We’d book it again in a heartbeat.

The house is beautiful and went well beyond what we expected. The sauna area is thoughtfully laid out, with a separate anteroom and two extra double showers, and you can go straight from there onto the terrace. In winter, it was a big plus to park the car under a carport. There was plenty of wood there for the fireplace too. In summer, there's also a second sauna by the lake. Even in winter, the view from the living and dining area is simply wonderful. There are stair gates on both sides. We were one adult and three kids, and we'll definitely come back!

We had enough dishes and facilities for our group of six adults and four kids, and the buildings were clean with nothing broken. The house linen and final cleaning were good too, though the renter does have quite a bit of responsibility. The villas are generally well equipped, just not quite a five-star wow stay. The beach works well for swimmers, but not for people who can't swim. There's a little children's beach by the playground behind the villas, on the shady side of the cape. During our week the playground was overgrown with bushes and hay, and one of our kids got a tick on his back while swinging, with big bushes right behind the swings. The main beach slope is clear-cut and doesn't look great. Having neighbors right next door was a downside for us as well. The grill was the weakest part: it's a hut grill with no benches, side table, or canopy. Cooking different things for a big group was challenging, and rain would make grilling almost impossible without cover. Luckily, we had no rain that week. Shopping also means a long trip, since the village shop has limited supplies. If those things are okay with you, Tallusniemi villas are still a reasonable choice.
