Varalan Urheiluopisto

We somehow managed to sleep, and the toilet and shower area was spacious enough. The room was okay and the place was definitely clean, but the mattresses slide around and there’s no second pillow. There’s no fridge or kettle in the room or shared areas, unlike what you’d usually find in university accommodation. The bathroom has no counter space for toiletries, and the shower has no shelf. There is a sauna, but guests can’t access the changing room, so there’s no customer sauna. Services are very limited. I imagine the place is beautiful in summer, with its lovely surroundings, but this visit was disappointing. Breakfast was tiny for the price: no berries in the porridge, and 30 minutes before service ended there were only scraps of dried-out omelette and porridge left. We could have had a better hotel for the same price, so we’ll probably stay elsewhere next time. I can’t really think of anything good about it.

A versatile sports venue with places to stay and food available. Event lions in cooperation offer group activities such as bubble ball and Archery Tag.

We booked Varala Log Sauna for an evening, and the venue was great. Booking it and dealing with customer service were both seamless.

The room worked well for everything I needed, and the staff were friendly. The gym has that old-school, no-frills union feel. I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to come back.
