The location was incredible, but I left feeling that the hotel stood for things I like without delivering what I wanted. It looked modern, and I liked its ethical practices, so the reality was a real disappointment. Check-in itself was quick and easy. The room had beautiful architecture and lovely furnishings that seemed locally sourced, but it was dirty. There was pubic hair across the bedding, plus a lot of dirt around the beds, sinks and toilet, and marks inside the sink. The walls were incredibly thin. The thermostat was broken, and the room got unbearably hot. Meanwhile, a neighbor played the same note on a string instrument for about two hours, then seemed to use a power drill after finishing. We tried to get help through WhatsApp customer service, but each reply took about 30 minutes. I wish the hotel had digital room cards too, since entering the code was frustrating. We politely asked to move rooms, even if it meant a downgrade. They said the hotel was completely full, which I somehow doubt, though I don’t blame the person who tried to help. I just don’t think she could make that decision. Next time, I’ll build an igloo instead.

Bob W made me fall in love with Turku, and I’ll be back! The hotel is right across from Market Square, so it’s easy to walk to lots of places. There are grocery shops and restaurants nearby, and the neighborhood is quiet. Inside, it’s beautiful, comfortable and spacious. I even loved having a yoga mat. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.

The coffee was a standout: this budget apartment hotel had a pack of excellent Helsingin Kahvipaahtimo coffee for 1-4 cups, instead of the usual awful instant stuff. It also gives guests free entry to nearby Fitness24Seven. I went there between 16 and 19, and it was crowded, though not especially small. My apartment cost almost the lowest price in its 50-110€ range for one or two people, and was excellent for the price: spacious, clean and in good condition, with a nice bed, a great view and effective air conditioning. It had a kitchenette, small dining area and private bathroom. The hotel is in a lovely Nordic Classicism building by the main market place. Access to the building and room is managed through the website, and using it was easy. The room code arrived straight away. You can also use the site to buy breakfast for 13€, a toteback, early or late check-in or checkout, or paper for the instant camera to leave your photo on the room message board. A nice touch. I'll definitely come back.

The location is probably the best you could ask for in Turku. The rooms are comfortable, and the luggage locker room is handy. Once checked in, I had a very good experience. Before check-in, though, there’s no lobby or rest area to freshen up, and no guest toilet for people arriving early.

The room was very nice and fairly quiet, and the location was perfect. Customer service was great too, especially the AI support. I liked everything and have no complaints. I only wish I could have turned up the temperature. It wasn’t cold, and I’m sure 22° feels warm to an average Finn; I’m just used to more warmth when relaxing. That’s personal preference, so I’m not taking points off.
