I’d just arrived in Turku, and this was a nice, affordable place to stay. The staff were very nice, the included breakfast was modest, and the restaurant was clean with tasty apple juice. Free parking was a welcome bonus, and checkout was easy, just leave the key. It was quite warm inside. Some windows don’t open, so I changed rooms, but even then I had to fetch my fan from the car because it was too hot for me. The residents’ kitchen could use some work too. The microwave is really old, and the area didn’t feel clean. If you stick to your room, you’ll enjoy this quaint little place. Aside from the heat and kitchen, I enjoyed my stay.

My daughter’s first reaction was to ask if this was an old hospital. I won’t stay here again. I’m not sure who decides the hotel star ratings, but it can’t be the same system they use in Norway.

If you need an affordable, clean place to sleep, this hotel works. The breakfast was supposed to start at 7:30, but there were almost no choices at first. We later learned that more food was put out much later, so don’t count on breakfast.

The room was clean and nice, and breakfast was quite good. There were a few problems: the toilet seat was broken, we had to put the blanket into its cover ourselves, and the only pillow was very flat with no spare.

You get what you pay for, apart from the heat. In summer, the room has no ventilation or AC, and the air just sits there. It’s impossible to sleep like that.
