There aren’t any restaurants within walking distance, so for food you’ll need to use the ground-floor restaurant or the small shop at reception, which is handy for a quick dinner or snack. The hotel works well for a late arrival, early flight, or short layover, and its price is reasonable for an airport hotel. The shuttle from the airport runs about every 30 minutes, making the trip easy even with luggage. There’s also a pool and sauna for relaxing before or after a flight. Scandic Helsinki Aviacongress is a convenient option if being close to the airport is your priority.

The free airport shuttle is a useful extra, and the staff were helpful and professional when I stayed. Rooms are functional and comfortable. It’s a decent place near the airport, maintaining the Scandic standards despite being a three-star hotel.

Dinner here one night was a real highlight, the staff were amazing and the food was great. The check-in, though, was slow, and there isn’t much nearby. The shuttle was convenient, but town is a bit of a drive away. Our basic rooms were functional and about the size I’d expect at a three-star hotel, though I found some rubbish under one bed. The pool was cold and only open from 5 to 10 pm. I’d recommend it for a short stay when you’re ready to leave Helsinki.

Breakfast was an OK European spread, though I’m not used to having to book a time in advance. We had a really spacious room with two single beds and another 120 cm bed that folded into the wall. There was a safe and a small fridge, unusually large for a mini fridge. The three elevators were very fast and comfortable.
