Tanoa Waterfront Hotel

The pool was lovely and usually quiet, and our spacious room had air con that worked well. We ate at the hotel every night, enjoying the food, especially the chicken sizzler and chicken chow mein. Breakfast was good too, and there’s a nice range of drinks. We mostly had Fiji Gold draught beer, which was really refreshing. The staff were superb, always friendly and ready to help. John and David at the bar were especially great, real gentlemen. Sports teams from Australia stay here, so nights can get a little rowdy, but it wasn’t a major problem. There doesn’t seem to be much happening in Lautoka, and we hardly went beyond the hotel. A great stay overall.

The staff were very friendly and gave excellent service. The room and bathroom were clean, but the firm bed creaked. Water leaked from the hot shower knob. I reported it, but it wasn’t fixed, and one of the power points was broken. There wasn’t much choice at breakfast.

The atmosphere and overall vibe have been lovely, and the food is amazing. The service, though, has been disappointing. Whenever I go, our order arrives late, or doesn’t arrive at all unless we track someone down and ask about it.

The hotel was very clean and tidy, with spacious rooms and top notch facilities. Even in such a hot, humid country, I didn’t see any insects or creepy crawlies. The staff were amazing, kind and helpful, and made us feel at home from the first day to the last. We stayed 13 nights and had no complaints at all. Everything exceeded what we expected. The food was good, though the buffet breakfast was the same every morning. It would have been nice to see it change every couple of days. This was an amazing, memorable holiday. Thank you to every staff member who helped make it that way. We’ll surely be back.
