This place is very isolated, so tourists really need a rental car. We found AA Rentals, a great-value option near the gated community entrance, about a ten-minute walk from the house. A bus to Nadi runs every half hour, except on weekends. The owner’s communication was cryptic and unreliable. He didn’t send the access code until I asked, then sent only an incomplete photo. Without the taxi driver’s phone, we couldn’t have got in at 9 pm. The owner said he was on WhatsApp but wasn’t. The same happened with the Wi-Fi password, which was wrong. It’s a modern place, but poorly built and not kept up. Doors were misaligned, the lock was difficult to use, the oven didn’t work, curtains didn’t fully close, toilet paper holders were broken, and the air conditioning and fans were so noisy we’d only use them if we had to. For a three-bedroom house, the equipment was pitiful: no hair dryer, just two wine glasses, and kitchen utensils for only two people. The iron and burnt ironing board were emergency-use at best. I’d give it one star if the value weren’t good. We paid A$470 for two nights in September, outside school holidays.
