Platinum Cawa Apartments

After a long flight, we arrived after 9pm and were left on the street for over an hour. They had forgotten to check emails about our arrival time, even though I’d sent them days earlier. By the time anyone showed up, I was covered in mosquito bites and every food option nearby had closed. Around 10:30pm, the owner, who clearly isn’t based in Fiji, offered to waive the cancellation fee if we wanted to leave. As if moving somewhere else at that hour was a real option. Don’t waste your time or give them your business. Fiji has so many beautiful places and people, and this isn’t one of them. Zero stars.

The full refund is the one thing I’m satisfied with. We’d booked six nights, but after the first night we wanted to leave and eventually got all our money back. At first, the house manager offered 50 percent. I then told the owner I wasn’t happy paying $300/night when construction right outside meant there was no sound barrier. The location is great, but that didn’t help when I couldn’t get any daytime rest. The windows only had louvres, so outside noise came straight in. There’s a daycare on one side and construction on the other. With the louvres closed, the fan going full blast and the air con on, I still only managed a 20-minute mid-afternoon nap before waking up and messaging the house manager to say I wanted to check out. I’d read all the praise for the housekeeper, but I was taken to the room, paid, and left with a note on the bench saying goodbye and giving some information. Poolside facilities weren’t anything special, and swimming didn’t appeal when construction workers were on a roof next door.

Lina made the difference for me. She greeted us so warmly and happily, a breath of fresh air after the general bad attitude toward tourists we’d noticed in Fiji. The apartments are spacious, clean and generous, and the pool is beautiful. I also loved having a gym to work out in. The dishwasher wasn’t working, but they said it would be reinstalled as soon as possible. Great job, and vinaka, Lina 🌸

We spent six days in these lovely serviced apartments, and Lina and Sova were so accommodating with everything we needed. The apartment amenities were just right, with the pool and gym available around the clock. For going out, local bars and clubs are only a two-minute walk away, while Denarau Resorts is about 15 minutes away. Wailoaloa Beach Club is an eight-minute ride if you’re after live music and good food. I’d happily recommend staying here.
