Sau Bay Resort & Spa

It’s the Sau Bay family that makes this place special. They seem genuinely happy to have you there, and their warmth comes through in every interaction. Fijian friendliness is hard to beat, and at Sau Bay it feels distilled to its purest form. We came back for the 2025/26 holidays, from 21 Dec through 8 Jan, after spending a few days here three years earlier. We couldn’t stop thinking about Sau Bay and wanted more. The clean, comfortable bures, lovely setting, and first-rate food were all just as good as we remembered. The resort is geared toward diving, but there’s plenty to do from shore too, including snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle boarding. We don’t dive, and still loved the snorkel trips. The loop hike to the “top of the world” gets your heart going without completely wearing you out.

With only 7 bures, this is a small resort, and for 5 of our 6 diving days it was just the two of us on the boat. Most guests were out snorkeling, so we had the dive boat to ourselves while other boats were packed. The resort is also so close to Rainbow reef. Carl was a fantastic guide. He knew where to take us based on the tide and current. The staff were more attentive than at any resort we’ve stayed at, remembered our names, and catered to what we liked. The food was outstanding. An amazing stay.

The diving was incredible, with the healthiest reef I’ve ever seen, just full of life. The food was fresh, locally sourced, and delicious too. What really stayed with us was how warmly everyone welcomed us. The staff shared their time, culture, and knowledge so generously that leaving felt like saying goodbye to dear friends. The property itself is beautiful, tucked into a quiet bay among green hills and tall trees. Seeing it from the boat felt like arriving in a little piece of paradise. We had an amazing honeymoon at Sau Bay. If you’ve found it, you’ve discovered a real gem. Go ahead and book the trip, the effort is repaid tenfold.

The diving is the standout: vivid reefs, abundant marine life, and dramatic underwater landscapes, on a level I’d compare with Raja Ampat. Sau Bay Resort in Fiji is a real gem, with majestic views where lush jungle meets clear water. The rooms feel like a peaceful, private escape. The staff are wonderful, and their warm, genuine hospitality made every moment memorable. It’s a lovely mix of nature, comfort, and adventure. Highly recommend!
