Horrible experience. The staff were unfriendly from the start, and the room smelled so strongly of citronella cleaner it nearly took my breath away. It was badly outdated, with hard mattresses and only one usable power socket. The others seemed unsafe, and even sparked when I tried them. A large boiler sits right over the toilet, so you can’t pee standing up, and when sitting you have to get up carefully to avoid hitting your head. The price was already too high, and I really can’t recommend staying there.
It’s well placed for exploring the area, with shops, restaurants, and the harbour nearby. The self-catering rooms are plain but clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly. We paid extra for private parking. Nothing to fault.
The whole place has a strange, almost retirement-home feel, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone staying alone. Reception is shut for the entire middle of the day, and one pool is dried out and moldy, which is a real eyesore. There’s no WiFi in the rooms, a major dealbreaker for me, so they shouldn’t advertise it.
The mattresses could be thicker, but the air conditioning and shower are both strong. The rooms are simple, clean, and have what you need.
We had no other complaints, though there aren’t enough outlets, especially for more than three people in a room, so bring a power strip. The place itself is nice, but the manager wasn’t very friendly. A warmer manner would be welcome, since a forced smile doesn’t really do it.
