Carole was so helpful and friendly, well beyond what we expected. The hotel has lovely art and design, and its setting and atmosphere are wonderful. We had a memorable meal at the restaurant behind the courtyard, with a great steak cooked over the fire. That really added to our stay in Aigues-Mortes. Thanks for such a lovely visit.

We first stayed here seven years ago, without kids, and it stuck with me. Coming back with our three young children, we felt right at home and were well accommodated. We travel a lot, and this hotel still feels truly special and unique. The owners have amazing style, and there's so much to do in Aigues-Mortes!

We only stopped for lunch, not an overnight stay, and it was a real treat. Both house wines, red and white, were very good, and the food was cooked just right. The staff were relaxed and friendly. After walking the ramparts of this lovely medieval town, sitting out on the back patio was especially welcome. Definitely worth a visit.

The food was excellent and the portions were just right, but the restaurant can't handle many diners despite all those tables. It seems to top out at about eight tables. We insisted on eating there and ended up waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes for a beef fillet and a fish. There was just one waitress and two people in the kitchen, which seemed very odd in high season. Book well ahead, or be ready to wait patiently.

The garden and pool are beautiful, and from there you can look toward the main street under a canopy of tree branches. The whole place feels like a dream, somewhere in the south of France that could be a museum or someone's home from another time, far away from the everyday world.
