The cider and lemonade were fine, and we did eventually sort out some cash, so things ended all right. But the blonde woman inside was very rude about the cash-only rule for bills under 15 euros. When I said I might not have cash, she pushed me to order another 8 euros' worth to get near the limit. A latte would have helped, except the one I ordered never came. I usually pay electronically while traveling around the EU, so the whole exchange left me sad. The service outside was nice, though. It should've been two stars, but you can decide whether to come in.

We spent hours here playing cards by the fountain. The drinks were reasonably priced, and the staff were lovely and attentive. We chose not to eat because of the reviews, though. Maybe improving the food would help bring customers back.

The meal and service were terrific, right in the town square. I can only speak for the restaurant, but I had a really good pistou, a bit like minestrone with pesto, and my friend had a lavender crème brûlée she found life-changing. We’d come to see the nearby "the France Grand Canyon" and happened on this adorable town, full of roses and local dogs.

The fresh fish was good, but the steak was so-so and the pasta was quite poor. We skipped the pizzas, which might have been a simpler, better choice. The staff were busy and working hard, but the food wasn't anything special. The place is pleasant enough, though rather average, and it seems to benefit from having little competition in the village. There are far better options just down the road in les Salles-sur-Verdon.

For an authentic taste of a small French town, come here, get a drink or two and some food, and take in the view. It's a wonderful experience, and you won't be disappointed.
