We enjoyed the Alchimie lodge's facilities over our four-night stay. There was a private hot tub for two, which you have to ask to have heated in advance, and a sauna shared with the neighboring room. Our dinner with the hosts was nice, though our French is very poor, so we couldn't follow about half the conversation. They did their best, but the language gap made it hard. The service was good, though after receiving exceptional service elsewhere in France just before this stay, we felt a few details were missing: a first-time sauna setup, a tour and explanation of the property and its rules, and enough sauna wood for the stay without having to ask. It felt a little geared toward French guests, which is completely fine, but useful to know if you don't speak French. We got good restaurant tips and would definitely recommend Le Mont Pelat and Chez Cyrille, both excellent. Just so other guests know, eating in your room isn't allowed, and finding somewhere to eat nearby on Sunday night is difficult.

The vegetarian food here is both delicious and nutritious, and really shows what plant-based cooking can do. The place feels warm yet contemporary, with high-quality facilities. Staying at Chalet du blanc with Karine and Patrick is always a pleasure. Karine's yoga, sports nutrition knowledge, and Thai massages, along with Patrick's kindness, tourist help, and breakfasts, all help you feel good again. Just know this isn't a hotel stay. Chalet du blanc is about sharing sport, nature, and meals at the table d'hôte.

I came for four days to take a break, enjoy the mountain air, and join a yoga and Ayurveda retreat with Karine and Patrick. They were warm and welcoming throughout. The beginner classes were adapted to each of us and took place in a lovely room with panoramic mountain views. Karine is kind and full of energy, while Patrick was always cheerful and attentive. The setting is beautiful, with easy hikes nearby for a bit of fresh air, and the sauna and Norwegian bath are great for unwinding. The local, seasonal meals were delicious and healthy. A peaceful place to spend a few days, with kind hosts who really pay attention to you.

Karine and Patrick are incredibly accommodating and do so much to make sure their guests are happy. The mountain views are breathtaking, and the setting is wonderfully peaceful. There's a lot on offer here, from yoga and nutrition advice to Thai massage, trails in the Bauges mountains, a spa, heated pool, and jacuzzi. It's a magical spot to recharge and get back in shape, and the value for money is excellent. I highly recommend it.
