Aparthotel Adagio Aix en Provence Centre

The location was just right for getting into the city centre, and we had a lovely three-night stay with our dog. The staff were warm and accommodating, and went out of their way to help with a couple of things we asked for. Our studio was clean and well equipped for its size, with plenty of washing-up liquid, soap, dishwasher tablets and other supplies. I only wish there’d been a tall broom for the tiled floor, since the little dustpan and brush wasn’t ideal. This is an apartment hotel, and one of the more affordable places in the city. It’s set up for guests to take care of some things themselves. If you’re expecting daily cleaning, fresh towels every day, or lots of breakfast choices, a fully serviced hotel may suit you better.

There are lots of restaurants and amenities nearby, and the location is very convenient. The room itself was spacious and quiet, and the beds were comfortable. But I found the service poor. In the morning, I asked the young man at reception for a fresh towel and he agreed. A woman there cut in and told me to ask again when I came back in the evening. She looked straight at me in a challenging way, which felt rude and disrespectful. The parking entrance is so narrow that getting in and out is difficult. I wouldn’t recommend using it because it seems easy to damage your car.

The room was large and clean, with a kitchen, and breakfast was enjoyable. It was my first time at an Adagio hotel from Accor, and the stay left a good impression. The location was convenient, too. I do wish the doors or windows had screens to keep insects out. Patricia and Romaric at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, as were Marika and Cicilia at breakfast.

The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, and the location worked well. Most things were fine, but there are a couple of areas to improve. I stayed for seven nights and the room wasn’t cleaned once, nor were the towels changed. Breakfast also needs more variety, since there weren’t many options. Apart from that, everything was good.
