The staff were really nice and helpful, which is why I gave it two stars. The room was clean, but the toilet wasn’t very clean. The rooms looked extremely dated, as if they’d never been renovated, and the linens were rough to sleep on. There was also a strange smell. I booked specifically for access to the spa, but “spa” is a huge word for what’s there: one small, slightly warm pool and two tiny, slightly warm saunas. I didn’t even sweat, and that’s kind of the point of a sauna. Whoever took the hotel photos did a great job, because I expected something much nicer. The hotel, rooms, lobby, spa and corridors all felt old-fashioned, and it was definitely overpriced.

The spa was amazing, and the food was so good. We first stayed for four nights with a friend last year, then came back this year for just two. The staff are attentive and happy to help, and the hotel is very nice and clean. We visited in early November, and the town's nightlife was pretty good too.

The staff were the nicest I've come across, and there’s a big balcony with a pretty view, a large bed, a TV, and a small kitchen area. I booked for the indoor pool during an early May stay, but it closes at 7:30, so a later closing time would’ve been nice after a day out. Parking is free, and the hotel is close to the center of Aix les bains. It was a bit overpriced, stuffy without air conditioning, and a little dated.

The price for what you get is decent, but a three-star hotel should at least provide bottled water, a kettle or coffee maker, and tissues. There was no bottled water, no Kleenex, and no room amenities. The pool rules were ridiculous: I couldn't swim in shorts, even small ones made for swimming, and apparently needed a g-string swimsuit. I came to relax, not deal with rules that make no sense. I'm not coming back. Avoid it.

The garden terrace has a nice mountain view. It’s about a 25-minute walk from town, and there’s a bus stop nearby, though the bus doesn’t run late. The room and facilities were clean, but they could use some renovation.
