We arrived early and the staff were lovely and helpful. They offered to store our bags while we explored and return for regular check-in, or to pay 15 euros for an early check-in. We chose to wait. Before heading out, I ordered two espressos, which they gave us free, along with fresh cold citrus water because of the heat. I really appreciated that. Our balcony overlooks the marina, so it’s a lovely place to relax in the sun. The hotel is easy to reach on foot from both the train station and the port, with a nice market square nearby and plenty of places to eat or get a drink.

The reception staff were very kind, and the location is great. Still, my overall impression was negative. I paid the agency quite a bit extra to have a room to myself, as did five others in my group, but all of us ended up in small, very dark rooms. Mine was about the size of a ship’s cabin, and the bathroom stall was exactly the same size as the one in my cabin. I’ve seen the hotel’s replies saying guests need to pay extra for better rooms. If so, they should post honest pictures of these tiny rooms so people know what they’re paying for. The hotel has seen better days. Breakfast was very bad. We found dirty cutlery and too few plates. When someone in my group complained about the cutlery, a woman working there responded in a hostile, rude way. That same woman shouted at me for taking the wrong kind of plate. I didn’t see the usual fare the hotel described or the foods shown in some photos. I did see scrambled eggs swimming in water, which I’m sure isn’t a Corsican dish either. There was very little for vegetarians or for someone like me with diabetes. This seems to be a common problem, and not only at this hotel. I’m sorry I didn’t take photos, but I will next time I’m in a situation like this. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

They claim to be a three-star hotel, but it doesn’t feel like one. The room was old, the bathroom was terrible, and it cost over 200 euros a night. Avoid it.

The location is great, and even though the room was small, it had what we needed. The bathroom was tiny too, and the place was rather noisy. Service was quite bad, though. We had bikes with us and were charged 15 euros per bike to leave them in a corridor by the elevator, not even in a proper storage room. The website didn’t mention a storage fee, and every other hotel we stayed at in Corsica stored our bikes for free. They wouldn’t let us take the bikes to our room, even though we had no suitcases or other luggage. Their alternative was to lock them outside, which was unreasonable for bikes that cost this much. They were quite rude about it too.

The location is great, with the tourist office practically next door and plenty of places to eat. If you want to enjoy the port view, get a balcony. The rooms are small, and the bathroom could be difficult for bigger people. Staff are nice. There’s a paid parking lot nearby, though you may need to wait if it’s full. Don’t miss the Calanches. It’s an amazing drive about two hours north.
