Sun Beach Hôtel

Maria is a great hostess, and the place feels very friendly. The sea view is amazing. It’s clean, the pool is nice, and parking is free.

For the lowest price I’d seen at the time, I got a clean room with the essentials, nice views, and friendly staff. I stayed for two nights.

Dinner was laughable. It felt like the food equivalent of flipping someone the finger, and I was still hungry afterward. I’d called ahead to ask for vegan options, but the cold chickpeas straight from the can, lightly seasoned, were the starter. The main was a small amount of roast potatoes thrown on the plate, pictured before I touched it, as the “chef” had plated it. Dessert was a single apple on a plate. At breakfast, each of us got a non-vegan croissant, which I gave to someone else, plus half a baguette and jam. A few days later, we stayed in Sardinia. They were incredibly nice, spoke English, and actually served me proper meals. Simple pasta, but tasty and filling. The bathroom here was untidy, with hairs on the floor. For some reason they put us in a room for disabled people, though we would have preferred a standard one. The staff didn’t speak English. Only the receptionist spoke a little Italian. Why are they working in tourism then? Beats me. I’ll never return to this hotel.

There’s no minibar in the rooms. The employers’ children behave badly and make a mess around the hotel pool. Animals are allowed, and they bark all the time. Breakfast is poor, and dinner is served from just one menu.
