Château du Gô

The grounds toward the river are lovely to look at, but unfortunately there's no walking trail through the beautiful meadow. Internet was poor. The property itself is beautiful, with friendly and helpful hosts, and the chateau's historic ambience feels special. There’s lots of sightseeing in the area, and it was a very relaxing place overall.

The setting was magnificent, with Château du Gô surrounded by greenery and the Tarn River at the bottom of the garden. We stayed for a weekend in April 2026 in two rooms, one of them the Laperouse room, and it was a wonderful experience we'd happily repeat at the first opportunity. The rooms were exceptional and beautifully decorated, with luxurious bathrooms. Lapérouse's birth in the château adds to its real charm. Madame Lopez gave us a wonderful welcome and had prepared a breakfast we'll remember for a long time. It wasn't warm enough for us to use the impeccably maintained swimming pool. The place feels timeless and exceptional, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. We wholeheartedly recommend Château du Gô to anyone visiting Albi.

Just a stone's throw from Albi, the place offers plenty of space and a guaranteed sense of calm. The owners do everything they can to make guests comfortable, and they pull it off. At Château du Gô, the value for money is excellent: wonderfully comfortable bedding, breakfasts that change each day, and a place steeped in history.

We'll be back. The breakfast was excellent, and the superbly clean rooms had quality bedding. Even the laundry smelled wonderful. The owners were lovely and incredibly attentive, and the setting at Château de Go made for a special, timeless stay.
