The arrival was disappointing. For the rental price, the gîte felt dark, damp, and pretty unremarkable, and the welcome was rather cold. The barbecue was very dirty. The bathroom vanity was damaged, with the rubbish bins directly opposite it.

The place itself is charming and could make for a lovely weekend, but having the hosts living on site was an issue for us. We saw them several times in our part of the cottage, and had to be very careful about noise. At that weekend price, that was a shame. I wouldn’t choose it for a party or a get-together with friends, and it doesn’t suit groups.

My friends were disappointed with the holiday cottage they picked for their weekend. It looks attractive, but the cleanliness was lacking and some facilities weren’t working properly. I’d advise being cautious before booking.

The vaulted hall works really well for a party, and the owners were a big help with arrangements like catering and the restaurant. We rented the whole estate for a festive weekend with friends. The guest rooms and cottages were comfortable and well equipped, and the lovely road led us to a beautiful setting surrounded by nature, with a great view. I highly recommend it!
