Terres de France - Appart'Hotel le Splendid

The hotel felt abandoned, which was creepy, and it’s definitely a strange place to stay. Unlike some other reviewers, we didn’t see any insects. For a one-night stay it might be okay, but there’s hardly any mobile network inside, and the Wi-Fi was very poor.

The apartment was easy to get to, and the parking lot was fairly large. The reception was adequate, and the place itself was quite nice. But our apartment had no smoke detector! The toilet brush was very dirty, there weren’t enough outlets for different appliances, and the sliding bedroom door scraped the floor and was hard to use. There was mold on the bathtub grout, and I didn’t find the blankets very hygienic. The heating was stuck at 21°C (70°F).

The setting and architecture were splendid, just as the hotel’s name suggests, and everything else was spotless. Still, the dishes were dirty, especially the glasses and cutlery. The pillows were made for a child’s bed rather than an adult’s, and reception had no other ones available. The stovetop was ancient, and the elevator door was extremely noisy. That’s why I’m not giving it five stars.

I'm truly shocked. The apartment was practically uninhabitable: filthy, with dirty bedding, bedbugs everywhere, dirty dishes, and a clogged sink. The receptionist said they’d vacuum again, but vacuuming was nowhere near enough for how bad things were. I have no words for this disaster.
