We stayed one night in August as a family of five, breaking up the drive from the South before catching an early ferry from Calais, about 30 minutes away. At €30pp, it was very reasonable for high season and worked well for a quick stop. Check-in was easy, and the staff were polite and friendly. The facility is basic, more like a better-grade hostel than anything luxurious; I've stayed in a number of YHAs. Our chalet was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with plenty of room and a good setup of five single beds over two floors. We drove five minutes to the nearby town and got takeaway burgers at a reasonable price, so I can't comment on the restaurant food.

The location in France is very good, but the service was terrible. At the end of the trip, we had to strip the bed covers ourselves, which customers shouldn't have to do. There were blood stains on the covers, and with so many staff around, you'd think the rooms would be cleaned. Disgraceful. The food was terrible too. My mate was throwing up for a whole day, definitely food poisoning. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. Otherwise, expect to do everything yourself and have a terrible time. I don't know what you're talking about, Julie, but your hotel is TERRIBLE. I wouldn't want to run into you.

The setting is pretty scenic, and the grounds have a spacious layout with a park, pool, sports courts, a bar, and more. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and our room had what we needed: beds, a shower, and tea and coffee facilities. It's a budget chalet-style hotel, so don't expect luxury and you should be fine.

We had a pleasant one-night stop at Le Cap d'Opale on the way to the Euro tunnel. The rooms are basic, and the pool is standard. It has the familiar feel of a UK Butlins resort. Reception staff were very friendly.

I felt sick the whole time, probably from food poisoning. I was there with school and found it boring. I think my mate left a review too. We asked for a six-bed room, but it only had five beds, so another one had to be brought in. Outside there was a huge crater in the ground that seemed dangerous if anyone fell in. While I was waiting outside, someone in a golf-cart type vehicle nearly ran me over. There was no cleaning service at night, and in my room some of the bed covers had a strange red stain. It's also in the middle of nowhere and takes ages to get to. Would NOT recommend unless you want the experience of hell.
