Gîte le Chant Des Vignes

The staff were nice and the hotel was clean, but the room was such a letdown. It was laid out well and had an interesting feel, yet everything felt a little wet and smelled of mildew. The pool in the cave makes the whole place humid, and you notice that cloud of damp air as soon as you enter. I expected the room to be comfortable, but it wasn't. We could hear everything happening on our side of the cave at night, and it was the worst sleep of our trip. I can't understand why there aren't dehumidifiers in the rooms. It took two days after we left for our clothes to dry fully and stop smelling. I was so excited to try a cave stay, but I wouldn't do it again.

The rooms felt a little damp, and that sometimes made it hard to sleep. Still, the owner and his wife were incredibly kind and did a lovely job making us feel welcome.

The "Hibiscus" room felt like a little escape, with good heating, lovely quiet, and a whirlpool bath to unwind in. The shared spaces were peaceful and well equipped, and the pool was fantastic, with soft lights and music. You can even take a swim at 3 a.m. if the mood strikes. Breakfast was generous and really good, and the owner welcomed us warmly and shared the history of the place. Parking was easy, even over the holiday weekend. I like simple, unusual places, and this one was just right. Well done!

They gave us a very warm welcome, no question, but the room was a real disappointment. The finishes were very basic and looked more like a patch-up job. The jacuzzi was basically just a slightly upgraded corner bath. For rooms like these, the price is far too high.
