The location is about a five-minute drive from the city center, with some shops and an amazing Boulanger nearby for breakfast. Check-in was quick, the room was clean, and it had a bathtub. But during our three-night honeymoon stay at Ibis Amboise, my wife and I found the mattress quite thin and not very comfortable, and the room was rather small. There was no mini fridge, safe, bottled water, or slippers, and we even found a pretty big spider in the toilet. I know it’s a 3-star hotel, but it isn’t a budget hotel, so I expected a bit more given the ibis reputation.

The staff were polite and professional, and breakfast was good. The hotel was very clean and had secure parking on site. A practical location, about 10 - 15 mins by car from Amboise, and good value for the price range.

We had a comfortable stay, a friendly welcome, and a lovely buffet breakfast. There was plenty of parking, and the centre of Amboise was only a short drive away. They were very welcoming to our dog too.

The staff were friendly, breakfast was fine and typical of ibis hotels, and there was ample free parking. Our room was clean. My only minor annoyance was getting to the room at the end of the ground-floor corridor. I had to go down a few steps, which wasn’t very convenient with a heavy suitcase.

Basic, but fine for one night. The town is too far away to walk to for an evening meal.
