The garden was a lovely place to slow down. We bought a reasonably priced bottle of wine and sat outside among the greenery and quiet. The hotel and courtyard were charming, elegant but still comfortable. We had only a short window to finish our day in Amboise when we stopped at Hôtel Restaurant Le Clos d’Amboise after seeing Rick Steves recommend it. Even with our limited time, the staff were kind and attentive, and we felt well looked after. The meal was one of the best of our whole trip, including Paris and beyond, with every bite flavorful and beautifully presented. We left wishing we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend!

After arriving late with no dinner plans or reservation, we were warmly welcomed. The staff kindly asked the bar to put together a charcuterie plate, which made a lovely dinner in the lounge. We enjoyed the fireplace and some board games, just what we needed after a long travel day. We were upgraded to a larger room, which we appreciated. It had modern amenities, as did the bathroom, and the towel heaters were a real plus that time of year. We slept like babies. In the morning, we got to see the property properly. The quaint garden was a peaceful spot for a cup of coffee. Everyone we dealt with, from the front desk and restaurant to housekeeping, provided lovely service. I highly recommend Hôtel Restaurant Le Clos d'Amboise for a visit to the area.

The room was immaculate, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom had quality toiletries. We also had access to a beautiful green garden and a separate pool. Our host Gregoire was friendly, helpful, and attentive, and nothing felt like too much trouble. He even arranged train tickets and booked a taxi to the station. The restaurant smelled divine, and the menu looked amazing. We stayed overnight and were very happy with everything. Highly recommended!

We had a special dinner at the restaurant, which reminded us of the only 3 Michelin Star restaurant in our home region. The hotel is in a walkable small town, close to many sights, cafes, and other lovely restaurants. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, and we loved the little touches, especially the delicious-smelling soap products in the bathroom. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Clos d’Amboise and highly recommend it.

We’d absolutely come back. The front desk staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful, and breakfast was plentiful. There’s free parking, and the large, nicely decorated rooms have very comfortable beds. Our windows faced a beautiful courtyard where you can sit and have a drink. It’s a charming hotel that fits right in with the Chateau area of France.
