Villa Bellagio Amboise

We had plenty of room for our family of five, and the beds were fairly comfortable. The grounds are mostly left to grow wild, as other people have mentioned, but there was a bumpy castle for the kids, ping-pong tables, and a food truck. There were different meal options, and the staff were good and patient with our poor attempts at French. The room itself was fine and everything worked, though cleanliness could be better and some parts felt dated. A few buildings attached to the main center looked run-down or unused, but thankfully that didn't reflect the room we stayed in.

The place was basic, but it had what we needed, and we were happy with the stay for the price. The pool was packed during this week's heatwave, though that felt pretty understandable for summer. The grass is long in some spots, but trimmed along the paths people use. France seems mindful of the environment, and landowners mow less often to help reduce pollution. If you're visiting in summer, bring a fan since it can get hot and most places in France don't have AC. We'd recommend staying here.

For a family of four, including our two adult children, the apartment worked well and was exceptionally priced for the area. It was a two-bedroom place over two floors, with both bedrooms opening onto balconies joined to the adjoining apartment's balcony. That setup made us uneasy about leaving the windows open at first, but the rooms got so stuffy that we changed our minds halfway through the night. There's no air conditioning. The location was handy too, about 10 minutes from downtown Amboise and 10 minutes from Chennonceau.

We had an individual apartment with a large double bed, a kitchen and dining table with four chairs, plus a sofa bed and an armchair around a coffee table. It was comfortable. The restaurant was nice for breakfast and evening meals, with courses at 20€, and there's a bar too.
