Moxy Amiens

Moxy Amiens is a modern, fairly new hotel, and it seems generally well cared for. The room was small but cozy, with a thoughtful contemporary design, and it was very clean. A pleasant stay, though some things need attention. The shower gel bottle was empty, which was surprising for a hotel in this category. The sofa bed for the third guest had a clear dip in the middle, making it difficult to sleep and causing frequent wake-ups. Breakfast was limited; the cheese was dried out and the tomatoes were spoiled. The rooms meant for three guests and the breakfast quality could both be improved.

The foyer has a coffee and tea machine you can use whenever you like, which I loved. The rooms were lovely and spacious, and the hotel is close to the station, handy for a trip into Paris. We also got an excellent welcome at check-in, even though it was just before midnight.

We paid a reasonable price for a very pleasant short stay and will definitely return. The rooms were spacious, bright and clean, and the staff were welcoming and very friendly, with great service. Stairs and lift were easy to access. There’s underground parking in the building next to the hotel, 9 euros for 12hr to 24hr. It’s close to the station, cathedral and town center.

The mattress was on the firm side, and the room was a nice size. Staff at reception were friendly. There was a younger crowd, and it felt a bit like a backpackers, though there’s nothing wrong with that. Noise was a problem: we could hear TVs in other rooms, doors banging, and loud traffic in the morning. The shower design let water spray onto the floor. I didn’t try breakfast because the complimentary coffee on arrival was awful.
