For a stop on a long drive, this little town is pleasant to pass through, even though the hotel means a short detour from the highway. The rooms and facilities are basic, but clean and nicely kept, and it has what you need for one night.

The host was really friendly, and I’d happily recommend the hotel to travelers. Breakfast is inexpensive and simple, with coffee, juice, and two croissants. There’s a McDonald’s nearby and a small restaurant a few hundred meters away. The rooms were clean and well maintained, with a good standard for the price. Other hotels in this range can feel a bit shabby, but this one didn’t.

The room and shower were nice, and the man at reception was pleasant. Still, I didn’t sleep well and wouldn’t stay again. After 9 pm the hotel is unattended, which left me feeling unsafe.

The staff barely spoke English, but they were happy to use a translator to sort things out. I’d highly recommend this place for an overnight stay in Saint Flour.
