Réserve des Monts d'Azur

The kids had fun on the playgrounds, and we also spent time at the natural pool. During the guided walk in the reserve, we got really close to the animals. We stayed overnight in the Lodge, with a bbq dinner and an excellent breakfast. A great place to see animals in their natural surroundings.

Our guide was stellar, and the animals were a wonder to see. We spent around hours there and wished we could have stayed longer. Such a great, magical place.

We didn't stay overnight. The children really liked the tour, and there’s a nice little boutique with souvenirs. The restaurant serves a very good lunch at a moderate price, but book ahead. It’s a mini safari in the mountains, with horses and bisons out in the wild, either on foot or by carriage. The nature is beautiful and the staff are nice. It’s usually cold up there, so wear suitable clothes, long sleeves and trousers are recommended.

The views are stunning, and it’s a beautiful reserve where you can watch the animals in peace. Bring binoculars! The crepes were delicious. One disappointment for non-French speakers: before booking, we asked whether an English-speaking guide was available and were told that wouldn’t be a problem. On site, though, the English was limited to just a few sentences, so we understood almost nothing.
