We were alarmed by the hygiene. At breakfast, a man was arranging croissants with his bare hands, which I found disgusting. Breakfast cost too much for the very little there was to eat. The website said the hotel had air conditioning, but it didn't. There was a fan, though it only worked when balanced on a chair in a particular position. Our room was tiny, we could hear the neighbors, and there was bar noise at night. One evening we got back late and heard someone swearing by the service door. I think it may have been the owners. My husband understands French and said they probably live in the hotel. We were both very uncomfortable. To me, this felt more like a terrible French motel, and I'd avoid it.

Simple, clean and right in the center, with friendly staff who know Angers well and were happy to help. We really liked the place, and it was easy to explore the city center on foot.

The manager was friendly, attentive and easy to talk to, and the student staff were helpful and professional. Our rooms were clean, and the setting and location were lovely. We had a great stay at this small hotel and would recommend it.
