Hôtel Les Grillons

The food was a highlight across our four nights at Hotel Les Grillons. The chef adjusted the menu for our dietary needs and made delicious dishes that were beautifully presented and felt gourmet. At dinner, Emric was especially good, with great knowledge of the food and wine and excellent service. Both families felt at home thanks to the warm, helpful staff. The location is great too, just a short walk from the lovely Angon beach, with its clean grassy areas. We also enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, and our spacious, comfortable rooms had balconies. Hotel Les Grillons made for a very comfortable stay with excellent service. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Lake Annecy region.

We booked at short notice for one night and were very happy with our stay. The staff were helpful and friendly, and we felt welcome. Our room was lovely and comfortable. We’ll definitely return, highly recommended.

We were staying in the campsite across the road while travelling around France, and walked about 400 metres to this hotel hoping for a pleasant meal. The sign outside said “Restaurant Terraces open every day.” I asked the receptionist for a table; she went to check, then came back to say none were available, even though the dining room looked empty. So, fellow travellers, I’d keep driving and give this place a wide berth. It wasn’t worth our time.

The pool was gorgeous and wonderfully cool in the heat, and I was genuinely sad to leave. We also enjoyed the meals. The set menu can be changed for allergies or foods you don’t like if you speak with the staff before 5pm. They had electric bikes for rent too, which made for a lovely afternoon cycling around the lake. Our room was hot, but it was 38 degrees outside, so that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. When I asked for a fan, they found one, and before they knew they had one, they even offered to order one urgently. They also brought me a whole bucket of ice for my tap water without hesitation. The staff were warm and kind, and seemed to really care about making guests’ stays as good as possible. I hope to come back soon.
