Le Pélican

We had a wonderful stay over New Year’s. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well equipped, and the service team were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome, and the hotel is family- and pet-friendly as well. Breakfast was outstanding, with plenty to choose from, including Savoyard specialties such as local cheeses, jams, and cakes. Really delicious. We also loved the huge cedar tree on top of the Pelican Hotel. It’s over 25 m tall, more than 100 years old, and a landmark you can spot from quite a distance. It gives the hotel a charm all its own.

The lake views from the front rooms and the restaurant’s glass section are gorgeous, so it’s worth booking a table by the window ahead of time. The hotel sits right beside the lake, just a short walk from the old town. Our room was modern and nicely decorated, and the staff were great. We arrived at 9:30 pm but could still eat in the lovely restaurant, where we had a great meal. We’d happily stay again.

We had a lovely view of the lake right from our window, and the Old Town was an easy walk away. The room was roomy, modern, spotlessly clean, and beautifully designed. Free parking was a nice extra, and the price felt like good value. I’d recommend this hotel.

The rooms are spacious and really nice, especially compared with many other four-star hotels in Europe. We did find dust under the bed when we moved it to retrieve something we’d dropped. The hotel itself was great, but breakfast could use some work. Dessert meant the same bland sponge cake each day, with pancakes as the only other choice. The boiled eggs were served cold, and there was no option to choose soft or hard boiled. The omelette cost over 8 euros extra, and the scrambled eggs weren’t tasty. I’m pretty sure they were mixed with leftover boiled eggs.
