Les Quais d'Annecy

The location was a plus: it's next to the bus station and within walking distance of the old town and lake. The host also let us drop off our bags before check-in and responded quickly when we reported the Wi-Fi issue. He offered a temporary way to get Wi-Fi to our devices the next morning, though the TV still didn't work. Still, our three-night stay was disappointing. The place was below reasonable expectations, and in its current condition it wasn't good value for the price, in my opinion, even though the host seemed kind and earnest. Check-in at 5 pm felt late. Check-out was the usual 11 am, but our bus wasn't until 2 pm. We messaged to ask whether we could leave our bags and collect them later, got no reply, and had to carry them around. The bed was uncomfortable, and we woke up sore each morning. The building entrance and stairwell smelled of smoke because there had been a fire a few weeks earlier. We weren't told until check-in day, and if I'd known when booking I wouldn't have reserved it. On our first night, we came back from dinner to find the bathroom soaked from a strong leak through the ceiling vent. I told the host; he said it was coming from a unit above and he would try to contact them, but there wasn't anything else he could do then.
