The apartment was filthy and badly run down. The kitchen had a horrible smell, perhaps from the sink or sewage, that cleaning and airing out couldn’t get rid of. The bed covers were stained with oil, and the mattress sagged badly. Even the slightest movement made the bed creak in a worrying way. The ceilings and doors were extremely low. When we arrived, the host told us that he and his partner had had Covid19 “a few days ago” and were “almost free of symptoms by now.” We didn’t stay for the full number of days we’d booked.

Roland and Nadine are marvelous people, and their art castle is so lovely. The setting, swimming pool, upkeep, surroundings, everything made such an impression that we’ll definitely come back! Le Quinquerlet was for sale, by the way (2022).

A beautiful location, with art, a pool and a garden. The housekeepers were lovely, and everything was well maintained. So nice.
