The location did a lot to make this a good stay, and we’d probably come back. We shared a two-bedroom apartment with friends and their two children. The place itself was okay, though the complex feels tired. The pool was cold, the jacuzzi only lukewarm, and cleaning under the furniture could have been better. The boot room was handy for getting straight to the magic carpet lift, but queues can get long if you arrive behind a school group or at a busy time. I wouldn’t expect four-star standards here.

The shared areas really let the place down. The hallways and other common spaces were dirty and poorly looked after, which lowered the quality of our stay. The pool area was decent enough for a rest after being outdoors. Our apartment was quite nice and practical, though it didn’t seem particularly well maintained. The location is a real plus: it’s peaceful, close to the ski lifts, and convenient without a car.

We’d rate this around 2.5 stars. Getting to both the slopes and town was easy, the sauna and steam room were nice, and the beds were comfortable. Some staff were friendly, though they weren’t always very helpful. The apartment had little storage, with just a closet and no chest of drawers, and the pillows were very flat, one per person. It felt old and bare, with creaky furniture and dust under the beds. The hallways were disgusting and weren’t cleaned during our week. Our sink stopped working and drained water onto the floor. A technician came after 7 pm while our child was asleep and tried to fix it. The hot tub was barely warm, and the pool was freezing, nowhere near the temperature posted, so we didn’t enjoy using it. Pool towels cost €6 each as a rental fee, not a deposit, which seemed ridiculous. The apartment needs updating, and we wouldn’t come back. The problems outweighed the good points, and this doesn’t feel like a four-star resort.

The location was the one real bright spot. The internet barely worked, making even checking email miserable, which felt unacceptable in 2025. Staff did very little when we raised problems. They kept telling us, “It’s not a hotel,” despite “Hoteliere” being written on the wall outside. They even complained about us in French, apparently not realizing we understood. The gym equipment was decades old and partly broken. The spa was okay, but the steam room and hot tub were cold or lukewarm. The ski boot heaters didn’t work either. Handles on doors and toilet roll holders were coming off. The kitchen was so cramped we had to chop food on the hob, and the knives were dangerously blunt. We were expected to clean the kitchen and strip the beds at checkout or lose our security deposit. That was a first for us in a four-star place. There was one washing machine and one broken tumble dryer for the whole complex, not much use when everyone is skiing and going through clothes quickly. This was very disappointing and nowhere near four-star accommodation. The location doesn’t make up for it. Stay away.

We had a really pleasant stay in a comfortable apartment on the hillside, in a lovely, welcoming village. The team at CGH Résidences & Spas - Les Chalets de Jouvence were friendly and always ready to offer advice or help. They were just as professional after our visit and made us feel like valued customers. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it.
