We stayed at Sancie and Sylvain’s for three nights. The house is clean, spacious, and lovely. The bedrooms are downstairs, with their own entrance and plenty of space for ski gear. Upstairs there’s a broad living room with a cozy fireplace and a kitchen. We ordered a tasty dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Sancie cooked it, and the breakfasts were filling too. The place was really clean, which mattered most to me, and we enjoyed our stay with this very nice couple. There was one main disappointment. We couldn’t go up to the living room to sit, have a drink, or snack in the afternoon or evening unless we’d ordered dinner. That’s Sancie and Sylvain’s own living room and kitchen. Eating in the bedrooms isn’t allowed, and there’s nowhere outside them for a group of four to sit around a table. There’s a small sofa, coffee machine, and tea kettle, but it’s not very useful, and it’s close to other rooms so you can’t comfortably talk. We stayed three nights, so two small bottles of bath soap or shampoo clearly wouldn’t last. The hosts provide these, and towels too, but only after three nights. It’s all explained in an overly detailed, thick instruction book, but I find the arrangement odd. The photos make the place look so inviting, but don’t say that guests can’t use the living room. We didn’t use the nearby ski bus stop at all, even though it’s 20 meters from the exit. The half-kilometer walk to the village center was so pretty and pleasant in the morning, though there’s an uphill stretch to keep in mind. During the New Year period there were lots of tourists, and being packed into a crowded bus seemed like a waste. I hope Sancie does well, because the place has a lot of potential.

We loved the hearty homemade breakfast and the warm welcome from Sou. The rooms were cozy and well equipped, and the guesthouse was beautifully maintained, a lovely place to relax. We didn’t get to try dinner, but we’ll definitely return. The village is about a ten-minute walk away, which wasn’t a problem, and shuttle buses nearby take you to the slopes. The Grand Massif is one of the most beautiful and extensive ski areas I know. It’s a lovely stay for a very attractive price and with excellent quality. Thank you, Sou, for being so kind and welcoming. See you soon!

Sou’s place is well worth visiting. It’s in a superb setting, and the house has been beautifully renovated. The food is excellent, too. Sancie and Sylvain are charming, attentive hosts. Guilaine and Grégoire, May 11, 2025.

We spent three nights in a delightful old farmhouse, probably among its first guests. Sou, the hostess and architect, restored it with great taste. We’ll remember how warmly and kindly we were welcomed, and the wonderful evening with Sou’s partner, an incredible pianist. It was well worth the trip, and we’d love to come back.
