Apartment Villa Symphonie

The interior was very clean, and the rental is conveniently located between the train station and the beach. Booking through Gîtes de France worked better for managing the rental than Airbnb. Since the apartment is on the ground floor, opening the bedroom and kitchen windows onto the parking lot can let in exhaust fumes. There aren’t many towels, so bring your own. The small garden is enclosed but not private, as a simple fence separates it from the sidewalk, and I never ate outside there. On opera nights, the crowds make a huge racket late into the night. Closing the windows and shutters doesn’t help, and it was impossible to sleep or fall back asleep. A room facing the parking lot might be quieter. Another major downside is the lack of high-speed Wi-Fi through a router. Internet is practically essential now, but the 4G signal from the apartment is very weak and connecting to the city’s Wi-Fi hotspots is almost impossible. At over €1100 per week, or €160 per day, I expected better and more.
