Hotel Club L'Ourson

I’m back for a second stay, and I love the area. It’s a good stop when I’m crossing the Pyrenees. The hotel is basic but decent, with friendly, helpful staff and a simple breakfast. There’s private parking two minutes away, an open-air secured lot with a small covered section for motorcycles, enough for maybe four bikes. The only drawback is there’s no air conditioning.

We felt so welcome at the Panoramic during our four nights in August. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, and the fridge came in handy. We also loved the balcony view down the main avenue. Breakfast was plentiful and good value. It’s a great base for local hikes, including the Port de Venasque. Bring plenty of sunscreen 😋. The owners really make this hotel special.

I’ve stayed here many times and it’s still one of my favourites. The owners and managers are friendly and happy to help with anything. The rooms are clean, the private parking is secure, and breakfast gets you set for the day. The location is excellent, and we use the hotel as a base for cycling nearby. We’ll be back.

The front-facing rooms are noisy, so the back is a better choice. The service is excellent and eager to please, as you’d expect from a place like this. This grand old hotel feels much as its exterior suggests: high ceilings, large rooms, and an old-fashioned, past-century atmosphere. It’s comfortable, though. It hasn’t stopped keeping up, but it doesn’t chase modern touches just for their own sake. It stays traditionally good.
