The hotel makes a handy base for exploring the Landes, with beaches nearby and over 230 km of well-surfaced cycling trails winding through the forests. We chose the least expensive of the rooms offered, and it was lovely, clean, nicely furnished, with a good bathroom and enough space to feel comfortable. The rooms all had their own character. We had breakfast and dinner twice; the food was interesting and well prepared, and there was a good choice of wines with dinner. Service was impeccable, and reception was both professional and friendly. We’d happily recommend Les Vagues to anyone travelling in the area.

The breakfast was great, and the staff were really friendly. It’s in a beautiful residential area, within walking distance of both the city centre and beaches. Handy if you’re travelling with a dog too, since the dog-friendly beach is only a short walk away. We’ll definitely come back when we visit France’s Atlantic Coast.

Room 209 had a comfortable bed, a great shower, and a large TV, but the room itself was tiny, and the balcony was tiny too. I wouldn’t take that room until the view improves. A drinks machine in the lobby would be a great addition. Did I mention how tiny the room was?

We only stayed one night because the weather turned. The rooms are tiny, and the balcony was very small, though the staff were pleasant. You can walk everywhere from here, and there’s free parking right outside.
