The receptionist was helpful with a map tour and bike rental, and we were close to shops, the beach, and the winter town villas. The water bottles were replenished, there were lovely tea bags and some macaroons when we arrived, and the air conditioning worked well. We paid 25 euros per night for the hotel's secure car park. The nearby streets are pedestrianised, so you need a special code to enter. The villa looked beautiful, with lovely wallpaper, furniture, and a nice touch in the red carpet. Our family room felt cramped with the kids on a sofa bed, so it might work better for couples. The balcony looked onto the streets rather than the sea, and we could see an elderly family across from us a lot. It seemed very expensive compared with London, though maybe that's just Arcachon prices.

We found a last-minute deal that got us a fourth-floor room with a balcony. It was quiet up there, with a view over the rooftops and street. Breakfast was good, and they had a little basket of gluten-free food for me. This boutique-style hotel is a real gem, in a perfect spot near the beach in central Arcachon. Parking is available for an extra charge.

The deluxe room was lovely, with a balcony and a wonderful shower. We really liked the Rituals products, too. The hotel has plenty of charm, and the woman at reception was delightful and so helpful. We'd happily come back!

We booked just one night for our honeymoon, and they upgraded our room, which made the stay feel especially memorable. The service was incredible throughout. The woman at reception was so sweet, always smiling, and even looked after our bags when we arrived before check-in so we could head to the beach. Villa Lamartine is an easy five-minute walk from the beach, with shops and restaurants just a few metres away. Every detail, inside and out, is lovely. I loved the vintage look, which feels authentic but still modern and chic, never old. I've stayed at fancier, higher-rated hotels in other countries, but none impressed me as much. This is officially my favourite hotel, and we'll book here whenever we're in Arcachon. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. Kayla & Michel

This was our second visit, and we felt welcome again from the start. The team were warm, capable, and always available. The hotel is peaceful and sits just beyond the centre, in a spot that worked perfectly for us.
