The spot is great, and the pool was good for the kids. At checkout, though, we were charged extra for our kitchen and equipment tent. At check-in they asked whether we slept in our minibus, and when I said yes, I assumed the tent wouldn’t cost extra, as it hadn’t at any other campground we’d visited in the past 10 years. I’d never run into that before. I also don’t understand why the children’s and youth area with table tennis shuts at 9:30 pm because of “noise” while karaoke is happening in the camping restaurant right next door.

The toilets and showers were filthy, and the floor was covered in toilet paper, bins and dirty underwear. I was relieved I only had to stay one night. The staff were extremely rude too. When I asked why we had to pay an extra 11€ per person per day, the owner ignored me and just gestured for me to leave. I rarely write bad reviews, but this place deserves one. Do not go there.

The staff were very friendly, and the showers were spotless with plenty of hot water. We visited in October, in the low season, so the site was quiet. It’s well placed for the beach. The wind was too strong for a swim that day, but watching the kite surfers was fun. You can hear the train, though it didn’t bother us.

Algajola is a small, cute town about 1 km away on foot, with bars and restaurants for daytime or evening. Sant'Antonino and Pigna are nearby mountain villages with great views. The campsite sits between l'ille rousse and Calvi, and the train station is right behind it, with trains every two hours. The timetable rarely seemed to hold, but the ride is worth it for the views. Reception staff were friendly. Aregno beach is right behind the site, though the region gets windy and the waves can be very high. I like swimming, but there were days I couldn’t go in, and it may not suit small kids. The location is top, but the campsite itself wasn’t very good, and there are lots of other campsites along the same road that could be alternatives. It’s very large, with pitches that aren’t really separated, so there’s little privacy, and the ground was really dirty. The showers cost nothing extra and had warm water. There’s a small pool, which I didn’t use. The little “supermarket” had almost no products when I went in, even though it was high season. The place felt a bit lifeless, and the restaurant didn’t look welcoming, though I never ate there and can’t comment on the food.

For anyone in a tent, the dusty bare dirt pitches get too hot to sit on, and I missed having a picnic area. They seem fine if you have a caravan, though. I don’t really agree with the low ratings: it’s a campground, so don’t expect luxury, but it’s not bad. The grounds are big enough to find a quiet spot, and I didn’t hear traffic. If you’re bothered by cars, camp on the sea side. The beach is very close, even with the railway tracks to cross. It’s lovely, long, sandy and not too crowded, with beautiful sunsets. Toilets and showers were okay.
