We’d visited the village before and had a drink at the hotel, but this was our first stay. We were on two small motorbikes and could park them outside beside the Mairie’s office. The village felt very beautiful and safe. The staff were fantastic, always smiling, laughing, and ready to help. Our room faced the cafe and square. It was a little tight with both a double and a single bed, but worked perfectly for us, with a comfortable bed, lovely shutters, table, chairs, and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom was off the room and had a hot, powerful shower. Breakfast was a big spread of meat, bread, croissants, and other lovely food, more than we could finish. The cafe had good beers and lovely food served late, with people coming and going. It was a great spot to sit and watch the day and night pass.

The rest of the menu didn’t really grab me. I tried the cassoulet and found it gross, it made me feel sick. It was like baked beans with a dodgy sausage.

We waited more than an hour for our entrees because the restaurant seemed seriously understaffed. Then the main course arrived at the same time as the entrees. All they said was that it was a kitchen error. There was no apology, explanation, or discount. I’d suggest eating somewhere else, at a place where you’re appreciated and treated as a customer.

The service was good and the setting was nice, though eating outside meant dealing with some flies. The pizzas seemed to be bought in, maybe frozen, and didn’t have much flair. I think this place is better for a drink than a meal.
