Breakfast was one of the highlights, served on elegant tableware with a lovely spread: fresh fruit arranged beautifully, golden pancakes, crisp pastries and creamy fromage blanc. It was as pleasing to look at as it was to eat. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, a relaxing place to rest. At Chambres d’Hôtes du Palais in Douai, the welcome from the host couple is what gives the place its soul. They’re attentive, generous and always available, making you feel expected and cared for, almost like family, with the polish of a grand house. The interior is full of character, tastefully decorated with an appealing mix of authenticity and artistic touches. A stay here feels like more than a stopover. There’s a real sense of harmony and thoughtful detail that left me impressed and wanting to return. But shh, let’s keep it between us 😉✨

I felt comfortable and relaxed throughout the four nights I spent in this magnificent house while taking an exam. The hosts were incredibly kind and attentive. My room was tastefully decorated and had all the comforts and amenities I needed to feel at home. Breakfasts were delicious and varied, with French toast, pancakes, muffins and more. I’ll definitely be glad to return.

My husband and I stayed one night in a spacious room with elegant furnishings. Everything we needed was there, and it was spotless. The hostess welcomed us with great kindness to this pretty building in the heart of Douai. The whole residence is beautifully and tastefully decorated, and there’s a lovely garden. We regretted not getting to enjoy it during breakfast, which was exceptional and delicious, because the weather wasn’t great. Parking was easy, with plenty of room on the street when we arrived. We had a pleasant stay, and the owners were very accommodating. We’ll return on our next visit. Many thanks to Juhie and Vijay.

The house is gorgeous, with lovely decor and quality throughout. I was welcomed so warmly, and slept really well. Breakfast was all homemade and just right to get the day started. Such a peaceful place. Thanks, and I hope to come back soon! 👍👍
