Grand Hôtel du Lido

The hotel is in a great spot, just a short walk from the city center and right by a beautiful beach. The pool was clean and really nice, with enough sun beds. It’s probably the best hotel in the area. Our room was older and on the small side, but clean, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was okay and had what we needed: good pastries, fruit, lots of yoghurts and things to add to them. I would have liked more vegetables, a wider cheese selection, and hot food like scrambled eggs, bacon, or sausages. Still, we found something to eat each morning. We had mixed feelings about the restaurant. The food was very good, but the staff were so chaotic. It took ages for them to take our order, and they eventually got the meals wrong.

Etienne and his team have made this a perfect destination. The room was nicely renovated, and the staff were professional. Great service.

The hotel’s slightly old fashioned feel only added to its charm, and the half board was good value, especially with that fantastic cheese trolley at dinner. We were travelling with our Springer spaniel and really appreciated that dogs are welcome. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and would definitely come back.

The staff were friendly, and our room in the second building was modern and nice. There just wasn’t enough flat space to put things down, or hooks to hang a jacket quickly. It took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine and a Pastis at the outside bar, even though we weren’t ordering anything fancy. Breakfast was a disgrace, like something from a city motel. The music spoiled the nice setting, and at busy times we queued five minutes for each coffee. The coffee was just drinkable. There were only boiled eggs, no variety, and the only cereal was packaged Kelloggs. Cheese choices were limited, even here in France, with some ham alongside. I really missed scrambled eggs or omelettes. Breakfast gets zero stars from me, and I think it matters on holiday.
